As a principal partner of the Lunar Markets, The Star looked to bring the food festival to life for Chinese New Year and the year of the fire monkey. The objective was to drive visitation to the entertainment complex and reinforce the multiple offerings from restaurants and bars, to entertainment venues and hotels.

Yakusan designed a Chinese bamboo garden in the midst of the hustle and bustle of the food festival, providing guests with an opportunity to sit back, relax & enjoy their multicultural plethora of food offerings. But we still wanted people to be playful, so created some lucky dim sum stalls where you could try your luck at lifting a lid of one of the hundreds of dim sum baskets, all hiding hundreds of surprise prizes to be enjoyed within The Star.

We were also tasked with designing a tranquil Chinese garden in the middle of Martin Place where busy commuters could stop for a few minutes, walk through the garden temple, and take a seat to try their hand at a game of mahjong.
