It’s not often that you get the opportunity to showcase the greatest whiskies in the world, hosted by the best distillers in the world.
The Great Whisky Rumble, held in Sydney on 1st September at the Australian Technology Park, was a whisky event unlike any other. Designed to showcase the growth, innovation and diversity of the Beam Suntory portfolio of whiskies, the event brought together four very special people, from four of their very special brands. Together for the first time in one place, Fred Noe (seventh generation Master Distiller of Jim Beam), John Campbell (Distillery Manager of Laphroaig), Dan Tullio (Canadian Club Whisky Master Ambassador) and Hiroyoshi Miyamoto (Suntory Whisky Global Brand Ambassador) joined forces to debate and discuss the category globally.
Presented in a format, which was part rumble, part comedy debate, and part whisky tasting, “The Great Whisky Rumble” took guests on a journey from the 1920s to the present day. From the whisky barrel room complete with 30 metre barley trails, vintage trucks, & back bars of historic proportions, the evening took guests from one reveal to the next, unveiling speakeasy boxing rings for the whisky greats to get their gloves on and knock out their component distillers. The event concluded with the Preatures bringing the house down in an evening that was described as “An event of epic proportions, and possibly a game changer in how big brands do big events!“. ” Words cannot express just how awesome last night was! Honestly working in the game for 12 years now, I would have to say that was the best event I have ever been to “. Hayley Morison, ‘The Blend’ Manager, Beam Suntory Australia.
