Some would call it a brand revival… Yakusan was tasked with creating an authentic experience to bring Drambuie and The Rusty Nail cocktail into the contemporary age. Held at The Swinging Cat, an underground bar in the Sydney CBD, Yakusan developed a two month on premise activation, involving creative, venue styling, branding, and entertainment.

The Pop Up was a nod to the prohibition era, with strong jazz vibes and vintage styling and décor. Even the bar staff looked as is they were straight out of a 1920’s New York prohibition style bar. The brand’s signature cocktail, the Rusty Nail, a combination of Scotch whisky and Drambuie served with a twist of lemon was the feature of ‘Night with the Nail’. This, along with four other specialty cocktails, named after quintessential jazz and blues singers, formed the ideal Drambuie cocktail list.
To further set the scene The Swinging Cat hosted Herb Armstrong, Louis Armstrong’s grandson, who brought down the house with renditions of his grandfather’s greatest hits at Media, Opening and Trade evenings.
