At MONA, we don’t partner with brands that we don’t like, respect, or enjoy working with. Luckily, we like Hendrick’s Gin, and we liked working with Yakusan. It was really rewarding to see the community engage with the Hendrick’s Parlour of Curiosities at Dark MOFO 2015. The premiere of our Dark Park site this year was both opened up by the Parlour of Curiosities’ presence, which also gave the site continuity between artwork installations.

Our typically discerning audience for Dark MOFO embraced it – as shown by the impressive attendance numbers in and around the activation – but also through the huge amount of social media engagement with the installation. Dark MOFO has a carefully curated look and feel, which we are very protective of for any brand engagement. And it was clear to us that Yakusan had taken the time to really do their groundwork and execute a space within the Dark MOFO world that was seamless and on-brand. It just worked – and that’s not an easy feat.

What you pulled together yesterday for both the media lunch and the Great Whisky Rumble was nothing short of spectacular. I can’t tell you how many emails and phone calls I’ve had today saying that it was the “best event they’ve ever been to”, and it’s all accredited to the creative vision and hard work you guys put into it. It has really created a new standard and set the bar for whisky tasting!

Yakusan’s patience and understanding of the nuances of our brand was instinctive and resulted in an activation that had a greater brand presence than those with larger budgets and space.

Their effortless attention to detail, outstanding communication and all-round professionalism provided one of the most comprehensive events we’ve had to date, as well as a darn enjoyable experience to work alongside them.

The Parlour of Curiosities was a highlight at Spectrum Now, we were so proud to have this bespoke, well thought out activation as part of the Playground.

Thank you to Hendricks & Yakusan for really lifting the bar in consumer activations, and for exceeding our expectations of how this space would be delivered and received…
it was truly magical.

Just wanted to thank the Yakusan team for your work on the Hendricks tent for Spectrum Now. You took our brief for the Festival Playground and spun it into a brilliant story. The tent was a fantastic flight of imagination, part Royal Geographical Society circa 1890, part steampunk pop-up, and a complete joy in which to wile away a few hours watching the acts.
Thank you.
