For their portfolio of shopping centres across NSW, QLD and VIC, QICGRE challenged Yakusan to design and produce in-mall activations that were innovative, engaging, encouraged dwell time, and most of all gave kids & parents alike a great school holiday experience within their centres.

For this 12 month roadshow, Yakusan were committed to designing two concurrent touring activations that elevated children’s activations to something more than play – we measured ourselves against edutainment, discovery, innovation and learning (without losing the fun!).

Botanical Buddies was one of these activations. A multi-sensory journey that combined science and nature, we brought the smells, textures and delights of the garden inside centres and into our lab. This self-guided experience taught children about the life of plants and how they grow, and saw them leave with a plant to take and nurture at home.

While we were quietly confident that kids of all ages would love the Botanical Buddies Lab, we were surprised and delighted to see ‘big kids’ (a.k.a. mum and dad!) loving the experience as well. Content captured by Yakusan performed beyond expectation, and consumers across the Eastern Seaboard have expressed their excitement that the BB Lab will be coming to a centre near them soon.
